Friday’s Fancies: Back to School

Now that it is officially “back to school”, that means that the fall colors we’ve all put away in our closets can come out to play. Dark nail polish and brown boots can be worn and the comfort and style of leggings can return with no judgement. For my back to school look, I chose the classic oversized sweater and leggings look. A little fact about me, I will only wear brown boots! I don’t know what it is, I just love them. I especially love wearing them with black and grays (as seen in my collection)! I would usually choose a brown bag too, but this cute Kate Spade black bag looked perfect for heading back into fall.  What is your back to school/fall staple?

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

As some of you know, and some of you don’t, pediatric cancer has affected my life greatly. My older brother was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma when he was 16, and battled until he passed away at the age of 23. Sean was truly an inspiration to me and everyone who had the privilege to know him. In his legacy, my family created a foundation called The Seany Foundation. We are a growing, San Diego based charity that is dedicated not only to funding research for pediatric cancer, but also to help the quality of life of the kids battling it today. September is our chance to spread awareness to those who do not know how prevalent and random pediatric cancer truly is. Each week, The Seany Foundation’s facebook page is featuring one amazing young adult who has either battled or is still battling some kind of pediatric cancer. This week, we featured a young man named Dave Chalk, who has the same thing that my brother Sean had.
